About Us
History
Our story started way back.
Pastoralists Rights and Advocacy Network (PARANET) is a grassroots-led Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 2007 and based in northern Kenya. We work alongside pastoralist communities to defend their rights and improve their access to essential services.
PARANET was born out of the need to respond to the persistent marginalization of pastoralists in northern Kenya. We focus on practical solutions that reflect the lived experiences and priorities of the communities we serve
Our programs tackle critical issues in the areas of citizenship, livelihoods, education, health, and the environment.
PARANET’s strength lies in its rootedness. Our team is made up of local leaders, paralegals, and advocates who live and work in the same communities they support. This ensures that our work is always relevant, inclusive, and responsive.
